The Federal Highways and Bridges Department (Capufe) announced that two of its employees were shot on the Querétaro-Irapuato highway, resulting in the death of one of them.
In a statement, the agency announced the attack against the technical support personnel, which occurred at kilometer 20 of the highway.
In the statement, it detailed that it had contacted the families of the two employees who were shot, stating that one of them died in the attack, while the other is reported to be injured.
“The relevant authorities are already working on the investigation to clarify the events,” the agency wrote on social media.
Capufe closed the statement by expressing its condolences to the family and friends of the attacked employees.
The motive that may have led to the firearm attack against the two Federal Highways and Bridges personnel is currently unknown.
