Chihuahua reports 83 cases of measles in one week

According to the latest Technical Report published daily by the Ministry of Health, the virus has spread to 47 of Chihuahua’s 67 municipalities. Of those infected, 3,596 have recovered, representing 96.25%. Thus, 140 people remain in the active transmission phase, with skin rashes.

Cuauhtémoc has 1,374 infections, equivalent to 36.78% of the incidence in the state; Chihuahua City, 694, 19.58%; Nuevo Casas Grandes, 202, 5.41%; Ojinaga, 162, 4.34%; Guachochi, 159, 4.26%.

Thirteen other municipalities have high to moderate virus rates: Ahumada with 111, Ciudad Juárez with 110, Namiquipa with 84, Guerrero with 82, Carichí with 78, Bocoyna with 66, Camargo with 63, Delicias and Riva Palacio with 61, Buenaventura with 56, Ascensión and Bachíniva with 39, and Cusihuiriachi with 30.

The remaining twenty-nine municipalities have reported low virus transmission. Twenty-four people have contracted the virus in Meoqui; 23 in Batopilas; 22 in Casas Grandes, Guadalupe y Calvo, and Janos; 18 in Aldama and Urique; 16 in Jiménez; 12 in Hidalgo del Parral; and 11 in Saucillo.

In General Trías and Guazapares, nine people have contracted the virus; eight in Galeana and Rosales; seven in Morelos; six in Madera; and six in Morelos. in Gran Morelos and Nonoava, 5; in Allende, 4; in Aquiles Serdán, Balleza, and López, 3; in Ocampo, 2; and in Gómez Farías, Julimes, San Francisco de Borja, San Francisco de Conchos, Temósachic, and Uruachi, 1.

Ten people are hospitalized due to measles. On Wednesday, the 23rd, a 48-year-old woman from the community of San José Baqueachi, in the municipality of Carichí, died. The disease caused severe pneumonia.

Six days later, on Tuesday, the 29th, the Health Department reported the deaths of two more people: a 6-year-old girl from Carichí; and a 54-year-old man from Bocoyna, who suffered severe respiratory complications. They were not vaccinated. Thus, in the state, measles has claimed thirteen victims during 2025.
