The QS circuit will return to Puerto Escondido after eight years, according to the WSL website, which has confirmed the Oaxaca Pro by Corona event to take place between October 17 and 20, 2019.

It will be a 1,500-point QS ranking event.

The last QS event held in Puerto Escondido was in 2011. It was a four-star event won by Hawaiian Kiron Jabour, who defeated Ezekiel Lau, Billy Kemper, and Clay Marzo in an all-Hawaiian final, in that order.

That year, Peruvian Álvaro Malpartida and local Christian Corzo finished in the semifinals.

The Puerto Escondido QS tournament ran for four years, between 2008 and 2011, and featured several historic moments, as the seas were enormous on more than one occasion, bringing a healthy dose of adrenaline to the tournament.

The previous champions are:

2011: Kiron Jabour
2010: David Rutherford
2009: Clay Marzo
2008: Ángelo Lozano

This confirmation leaves a full calendar of international events for Mexican beach breaking, as the Puerto Cup has already taken place, the MexPipe Warriors will be held, the PXM is confirmed for November, and now, this QS is confirmed for October.
