With a renewed vision and a firm commitment to transforming the country’s tourism sector, the starting signal was given for a new era for the Association of Tourism Secretaries of Mexico (ASETUR).
“Tamaulipas tourism, under the leadership of Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya, is ready and working to be a key player in this change,” said Benjamín Hernández Rodríguez, head of Tourism in Tamaulipas.
“Under the motto “Tourism that Transforms,” the 32 states of the Republic, including Tamaulipas, are joining a coordinated effort to position Mexico among the top five global tourist destinations,” he said.
The participation of Tamaulipas, due to its strategic location, is key to this national strategy that prioritizes the promotion of the Country Brand.
He stated that the goal is to strengthen the sector’s competitiveness, national and international connectivity, sustainability, and tourist protection.
“Our state boasts a wealth of natural, cultural, and culinary resources that are being strongly projected nationally and internationally,” he explained.
Hernández Rodríguez said that this is a project in which tourism development is aligned with an inclusive, regenerative vision that has a direct impact on local communities, generating well-being and opportunities for all sectors.
With this synergy between the states and the Federal Government, ASETUR is positioned as a strategic platform that will drive the orderly and sustainable growth of tourism throughout Mexico, bringing with it the talent, experiences, and tourism potential of Tamaulipas, he concluded.
