Following the overflow of a storm-hit storm drain in the city of Querétaro, the municipal Civil Protection Department reported that on Friday night, authorities found the bodies of an unidentified man and woman swept away by the current on the streets of the Peñuelas neighborhood, north of the state capital.
The heavy downpour occurred in recent hours in both the city of Querétaro and the municipality of El Marqués.
According to the report, the woman’s body was swept away by the water on Paseo Constitución Avenue; and the man’s body was found nearby, in the median strip at the intersection of Plateros Avenue and Paseo de la Constitución.
The Querétaro Attorney General’s Office opened the corresponding investigation, and the remains were sent to the Forensic Medical Service.
Meanwhile, homes in the Peñuelas neighborhood were flooded, and a Qrobús bus was stranded on Torneros Street.
In addition, Candiles Avenue in the municipality of Corregidora is flooded, making traffic difficult.
