The rains that fell during the afternoon and evening of Friday, August 22, caused flooding on major avenues in the Monterrey Metropolitan Area, leaving at least seven cars stranded. Three of them were trapped in puddles that formed at the intersection of Nicaragua and Terranova streets.

At around 9:00 p.m., two vehicles were reported trapped by standing water at the roundabout of Ruiz Cortines Avenue and Gonzalitos Avenue, in the city of Monterrey. A video shows a gray car stranded, while the driver of another white vehicle tries to continue moving with water almost up to the tires.

Minutes later, Nuevo León Civil Protection officers received another report of two more cars stranded due to rising water levels at the intersection of Constitución and Revolución Avenues, also in Monterrey. The drivers of both vehicles were assisted by rescuers.
