Several residential subdivisions in the town of Bucerías, in Bahía de Banderas, were secured by the Nayarit State Attorney General’s Office on Sunday. The intervention included developments such as Terra Alta (phases 1, 2, and 3), Los Amores 1 and 2, as well as the Quadrant subdivision and some commercial premises within these areas.
The action took residents by surprise. Without warning, prosecutors and investigative personnel arrived at the entrances and placed seals with an official statement referring to an investigation opened since 2022. Although access was not impeded to those living in these spaces, the signage generated an immediate reaction in the community.
Uncertainty quickly spread among the families living in these subdivisions, many of whom acquired their homes through mortgage loans. The lack of clear information about the reason for the seizure has caused confusion, concern, and discontent among residents, who so far remain unaware of the legal scope of the measure.
Seeking answers, a group of residents organized a visit to Tepic this Monday to directly request explanations from the authorities. The measure affects approximately two thousand families, who now face the possibility of legal or property consequences, with no official communication clarifying their situation so far.
