Puebla will host the 2025 National Mezcal Meeting

With the participation of mezcal-producing states such as Oaxaca, Michoacán, Guerrero, San Luis Potosí, Zacatecas, Durango, Guanajuato, Tamaulipas, Aguascalientes, and Sinaloa, the state will host the Puebla 2025 National Mezcal Meeting, which will take place from September 12 to 14, 2025, at the William O. Jenkins Convention Center.

At a press conference, the Secretary of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ana Laura Altamirano, presented the details of the event and explained that its purpose is to consolidate the event as the main space for coordination, identity, and promotion of the mezcal sector in Mexico. Its goal is to strengthen the cultural, social, and economic value of mezcal, recognizing the work of producing communities, encouraging national participation, and promoting opportunities for fair and sustainable development.

The program includes nationally significant activities, including the National Mixology Championship, the awards ceremony for the Mezcal and Agave Spirits Tasting Competition “Premio al Origen 2025,” the Mezcal Race, the Best Mezcal Award, as well as workshops, forums, music, cultural activities, and more.

With this edition, Puebla reaffirms its role as host of the most important event for promoting and strengthening the mezcal sector in the country. Admission to the Convention Center, located on Bulevar 5 de Mayo in the city of Puebla, will be free and open to the public from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
