A 37-year-old man who had been kidnapped in the municipality of Valle de Santiago on August 26th was released by the Guanajuato Prosecutor’s Office on September 11th following an operation in Salamanca.

During the businessman’s captivity, his captors beat him so they could record videos and photographs of him being subdued, while demanding a large sum of money from his family.

How was the businessman kidnapped in Guanajuato?

The kidnapping occurred on August 26th in the community of San Antonio de Mogotes, as the victim was leaving his business. Hours later, his family began receiving calls with direct threats: if they didn’t hand over the money, they would never see him alive again.

Not only that, the criminals began sending videos in which the man appeared beaten and tied up, in order to pressure his family into paying the ransom.

Given the horror of the scene, a report was filed that allowed the kidnappers to be tracked, leading to a house located in the San José de los Naranjos neighborhood of Salamanca.

In what condition was the man found in Guanajuato?

When officers entered, they found the businessman with an injury to his right hand and under the guard of his captors, who were identified as María “N”, Octavio “N”, Ignacio “N”, and José Antonio “N”.

During the operation, a weapon, a vehicle, and the property where the man was being held were also seized.

Meanwhile, the victim was taken to receive medical and psychological care after several days of terror there. Meanwhile, the four detainees were charged with aggravated kidnapping, a crime that could leave them behind bars for decades.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the man confirmed that during the days he was kidnapped, he was kept subdued and had his hand injured, as part of the threats to force his family to pay.
