The Municipal Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPCM) executed an arrest warrant requested by the Mexico City Attorney General’s Office (FGJ). Within this framework, Policarpo “N” was arrested, who worked as an officer in the Tijuana Municipal Police.

This execution was carried out in accordance with current jurisdictional regulations and protocols and is in response to an investigation that began in Mexico City in 1990 for the crime of homicide.

Policarpo “N” had been part of the Tijuana Municipal Police since 1994, joining the institution after fulfilling all the administrative requirements requested at that time. At the time of his arrest, there was no information or request indicating his involvement in illicit activities.

The Mexico City investigative authorities will be responsible for presenting the detainee before the competent judicial authority to determine his alleged responsibility in the acts of which he is charged.

The SSPCM reiterates its firm commitment to cooperate at all times with authorities at all three levels of government in the fight against impunity.
