Nine Nayarit women disappear in Quintana Roo

Nine people originally from the state of Nayarit have been reported missing after arriving in Chetumal with promises of employment. On September 3, they were staying at the Luna Caribe Hotel, and their whereabouts have remained unknown since then.

According to initial reports, the victims were deprived of their liberty under circumstances that remain unclear. So far, family members and acquaintances have spoken out, demanding the immediate intervention of local and federal authorities to search for them and locate them alive.

This unfortunate incident adds to a worrying wave of disappearances in the country, where vulnerable people, in search of better opportunities, end up being targeted by criminal networks.

An urgent call is made to the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Quintana Roo, as well as to the National Search Commission, to act swiftly and transparently.
