PAN Senator Lilly Téllez accused former Interior Secretary Adán Augusto López Hernández and “Andy” López Beltrán of allegedly financing a campaign in favor of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro with fuel theft money.
In an interview with Rachel Campos-Duffy for Fox News, the PAN member called Adán Augusto a “narco-senator” and allegedly linked to a gasoline smuggling and theft network operating in collusion with Andrés Manuel López Beltrán, son of former President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
“With that money, part of what they’re doing is financing a campaign that supports Maduro, that supports Maduro’s narco-terrorist regime, and a campaign that attacks and denigrates María Corina Machado. That’s a fact,” Lilly Téllez asserted.
Senator Téllez also alleged that, through Jesús Ramírez Cuevas, Spanish politician Pablo Iglesias was allegedly hired to run a campaign in Mexico in support of Maduro.
According to Téllez, this campaign is financed with “Mexican money” and resources from fuel theft, with the aim of promoting a campaign in favor of Venezuela and against opposition leader María Corina Machado.
“President Sheinbaum was exposed when she refused to make comments congratulating María Corina Machado. That’s when she showed her true colors in the sense that she supports Maduro, and she also showed her true colors by refusing to attend the Summit of the Americas, because for her, supporting Maduro and Cuba is more important than supporting the free world. This is very worrying, and I think the United States should be aware of this,” the legislator stated.
The senator concluded her remarks by warning that Sheinbaum is prioritizing relations with Cuba and Venezuela, putting Mexico’s economy at risk.
“President Sheinbaum and the son of former President López Obrador, this group, are ultimately prioritizing their pact with the dictator of Venezuela and the dictator of Cuba,” she said.
Téllez emphasized that this alliance puts Mexico’s economy at risk, which depends largely on the Free Trade Agreement with the United States and Canada.
“Sheinbaum is putting Mexico’s economy at risk by maintaining her alliance with narco-terrorist dictators,” she stated.
She concluded by warning that Mexico is heading toward a system increasingly “more similar to that of Russia, Venezuela, and Cuba” and far from democratic, with laws that allow for automatic imprisonment of opponents, the freezing of accounts, and spying on citizens.
