The daughter of Anabel “N”, accused of involvement in the alleged abduction of a baby from the Maternal and Child Hospital in Durango, released a video on social media requesting the intervention of federal authorities.
In the message, she asks for the attention of Mayor Claudia Sheinbaum and the Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, Omar García Harfuch, to guarantee a fair trial for her mother.
What did Anabel “N”’s daughter ask of the authorities?
Perla Muñoz, the detained woman’s eldest daughter, expressed her request “from the bottom of her heart” to the country’s authorities, including the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum; the Secretary of Security, Omar García Harfuch; and the National Human Rights Commission (CNDH).
She asked that her mother’s case be reviewed with transparency and sensitivity, emphasizing the need for human rights to be respected during the legal process.
Why is the family denouncing a lack of adequate legal representation?
Muñoz asserted that her mother does not have a private attorney, which violates her right to adequate legal representation.
According to her testimony, Anabel “N” only has a public defender and has not been able to choose her own legal counsel.
“My mother is facing a legal process in which she has not been allowed to have a private attorney,” she stated in the video.
What are their expectations before the arraignment hearing?
The recording was released the day before the arraignment hearing scheduled for this Friday. Perla expressed her confidence that the authorities will hear their demands and act justly:
“We are not asking for privileges, only a fair, transparent, and legal process,” she stated.
The family insists that Anabel “N”’s individual rights be respected and that her case be treated equally before the law.
