Tran Van Do, 40, was reportedly attempting to cross the border into the United States and had therefore traveled to that state.
The Vietnamese man, who had been reported missing in Nuevo León, has been found alive, but in the neighboring state of Tamaulipas. He was allegedly trying to reach the border to cross into the United States.
Tran Van Do, 40, was located by agents of the Specialized Immediate Search Group of the State Investigation Agency during an operation that also involved members of the Tamaulipas Local Search Commission, the State Guard, and the National Defense.
It was reported that the Vietnamese man was in Ciudad Miguel Alemán, Tamaulipas, where he had allegedly traveled with the help of a smuggler who was going to take him to the border with the United States.
The missing person report was filed after relatives of Tran Van Do lost contact with him on October 24, 2025, when he was allegedly at the Wyndham Garden Universidad Hotel, located in the El Roble neighborhood of San Nicolás de los Garza, Nuevo León.
The missing person report stated that at the time of his disappearance he was wearing a bluish-gray t-shirt, gray casual pants, and carrying a red and black backpack.
It also details that Tran Van Do is of slender build, 1.70 meters tall, with straight, black, bowl-cut hair, a fair complexion, almond-shaped black eyes, and no visible distinguishing marks.
