The port of Mazatlán is ready to experience a historic day this Sunday as it hosts L’Étape Mazatlán by Tour de France, the amateur version of the world’s most renowned and prestigious cycling event.

The Secretary of Tourism for Sinaloa, Mireya Sosa Osuna, welcomed the competition’s ambassadors, former cyclists Joseba Beloki and Pedro Horrillo, who are visiting Mexico for the first time and have arrived in Mazatlán to participate in this major sporting event that boosts tourism and showcases the state internationally.

“In Sinaloa and Mazatlán, we are ready to experience L’Étape by Tour de France, because sport also tells stories that unite us and make us shine,” Sosa Osuna stated.

This Friday, the Sinaloa Tourism Secretariat will hold a press conference to announce all the details of the event and the activities that will take place over the weekend. “The goal is to promote sports, tourism, and family togetherness in a safe and professional environment, showcasing the beauty of Mazatlán as an ideal destination for world-class sporting events,” the state official emphasized.

The event will not only bring adrenaline and competition but also tangible results for the local economy by projecting Mazatlán as a major international sports tourism destination.

L’Étape Mazatlán by Tour de France will take place this Sunday, November 9, and thousands of people are expected to attend. They will have the opportunity to meet the ambassadors and witness an event supported by the State Government, led by Dr. Rubén Rocha Moya, as well as the Ministry of Tourism and the Sinaloa Institute of Sports.

More than 1,200 national and international cyclists are expected to participate in the 40, 70, and 120-kilometer routes. The starting and finishing point will be the Sister Cities Park.
