The prestigious international magazine Condé Nast Traveler has included Riviera Nayarit on its list of “The Best Places to Go in North America and the Caribbean in 2026,” a distinction that reaffirms Nayarit’s position as one of the most attractive, authentic, and sustainable destinations in Mexico and the world.
Each year, Condé Nast Traveler—a publication specializing in luxury and lifestyle tourism and considered a global benchmark in the field—in its 2026 edition, only two Mexican destinations made it onto the list, with Riviera Nayarit being the only beach destination selected, reflecting the growing international interest in the authenticity and dynamism of this region.
This international recognition is the result of the determined work of the state governor, Miguel Ángel Navarro Quintero, who has promoted a comprehensive development vision that combines infrastructure modernization, air connectivity, tourism promotion, and respect for the environment, consolidating Nayarit as a leader in quality tourism and social well-being.
Among the most outstanding achievements is the new Tepic-Riviera Nayarit International Airport, a strategic project that strengthens the arrival of national and international visitors with direct flights from Los Angeles, Houston, Calgary, Mexico City, and Baja California. This infrastructure, promoted by the state government, marks a new era for tourism in Nayarit, facilitating access to a destination that offers luxury, culture, and nature in perfect harmony.
Riviera Nayarit stretches along more than 300 kilometers of coastline, where development is accompanied by a sustainable vision that protects natural resources and promotes the well-being of local communities. From Punta de Mita, with its world-class hotels, to Sayulita and San Blas, Nayarit demonstrates that tourism growth can be synonymous with conservation and social harmony.
Governor Navarro Quintero’s leadership has also been key in attracting investment from international hotel brands such as Rosewood, Ritz-Carlton, One&Only, Fairmont, Iberostar, Marriott, and Grupo Vidanta, which are committed to high-end projects with low environmental impact, strengthening the regional economy and generating jobs for Nayarit families.
The state’s gastronomy has gained global prominence thanks to its focus on innovation and the revival of traditional flavors. Restaurants by renowned chefs such as Daniela Soto-Innes, Enrique Olvera, and Diego Muñoz have drawn inspiration from local ingredients and Nayarit’s rich cultural heritage, creating unique culinary experiences that celebrate the identity of the Mexican Pacific.
Beyond its coastline, Nayarit is a vibrant and diverse territory, where the indigenous Cora, Wixárika, Tepehuano, and Mexicanero communities keep their traditions alive and contribute immeasurable cultural value to the state’s heritage.
Under the visionary leadership of Governor Miguel Ángel Navarro Quintero, Nayarit is making steady progress toward an inclusive, responsible, and high-quality tourism model. The Riviera Nayarit, now recognized among the best destinations on the continent, represents the fruit of collaborative work that projects the state as a true jewel of the Mexican Pacific, where development and nature coexist in perfect harmony.
