Two foreign nationals rescued at sea off Puerto Vallarta

On Wednesday, December 3rd, lifeguards from the Puerto Vallarta Civil Protection and Fire Department rescued two foreign nationals off the coast of Banderas Bay, near the natural area known as Los Arcos de Mismaloya.

During a patrol of the coast, the lifeguards spotted two people capsized in a kayak after being struck by a moderate-sized wave. It was immediately apparent that the individuals were having difficulty getting back into their kayak and were showing clear signs of fatigue.

Upon assessing the situation, the lifeguards decided to provide initial aquatic assistance with the support of a boat. They traveled to the location and brought the two individuals to safety. Once out of the water, their level of consciousness was checked through an examination to assess their verbal response, breathing, and ability to float with assistance.

After evaluating the couple’s condition, the lifeguards proceeded to stabilize and reposition the kayak for recovery. This ensured the safety of those involved in a situation that ultimately resulted in nothing more than a scare.

Thanks to the prompt and timely intervention of the lifeguards, a more serious situation was prevented.
