Cancun International Airport is strengthening its connectivity with the opening of 17 new air routes in 2026, adding to a total of more than 112 direct connections to domestic and international destinations, consolidating the Mexican Caribbean as one of the most dynamic hubs in the Americas and the world.
According to the airport operator, the airport maintains services to more than 112 destinations, 21 domestic and 91 international, distributed across 23 countries and three continents, with a wide range of airlines connecting Cancun with key markets.
Among the new routes scheduled to begin operations are direct flights from Dublin, Ireland, operated by Aer Lingus starting January 6, 2026, with three weekly frequencies; connections from Oklahoma City, USA, with American Airlines until April 2026; and seasonal connections to Canadian cities such as Calgary, Toronto, and Hamilton, boosting the arrival of European and North American tourists.
The expansion also includes domestic routes, such as the planned route between Saltillo and Cancún, operated by Viva Aerobus and scheduled to begin in March 2026, which will broaden options for domestic travelers.
State authorities indicated that these connections will contribute to job creation, economic growth, and increased tourism in Quintana Roo. Furthermore, the announcement comes at a time when the airport has maintained strong operational figures since the beginning of the year, reinforcing the preference of both international and domestic visitors for the destination.
