Julio César M.S. was arrested by the Oaxaca State Attorney General’s Office for the aggravated homicide of Ubaldo S.B. and Fausto J.H., whose bodies were found in the Santa María Zacatepec landfill in early 2024.
Following Julio César M.S.’s arrest, as a result of the investigations led by the Oaxaca State Attorney General’s Office (FGEO), family members and neighbors of the victims demanded justice and the maximum penalty for the killer. “They must pay the full weight of the law for our brothers; we want justice,” they pleaded.
Julio César’s arrest was announced on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, in the Aviación neighborhood of Pinotepa Nacional, and he was placed at the disposal of the judicial authorities to determine his legal status.
According to the Oaxaca Attorney General’s Office, the crimes were committed on March 29, 2024, at the entrance to the community of Rancho Santiago in the municipality of Santiago Pinotepa, when Ubaldo S.B. and Fausto J.H. were intercepted by two people traveling in a pickup truck. The assailants forced them to kneel and then repeatedly beat them with a baseball bat before running them over with the vehicle.
The bodies were later moved to a different location and abandoned. In early April 2024, the victims’ bodies were found in the Santa María Zacatepec landfill, located in the district of Putla de Guerrero. Local authorities reported that the bodies were discovered by sanitation workers inside two black bags.
Ubaldo Soriano, 34, and Fausto Jiménez, 32, left San Isidro del Estado on March 20 at 7:15 a.m. to go to the community of Corralero to buy coconuts, mangoes, and watermelon to sell. They never returned and were murdered in Rancho Santiago.
“When they arrived in Corralero, around 9:37 p.m., he told us he hadn’t been able to find the man who sells him coconuts, so they decided to go to Martín, who delivers the coconuts for them. He said he’d been told where Martín was and was going to look for him; that was all. I replied to him, he received the message, but he never read it,” was the last anyone heard from Ubaldo and Fausto before they disappeared and were found dead.
