The Oaxaca State Tourism Secretariat (Sectur Oaxaca) reports that two destinations in the state and seven local service providers have been nominated for the 2025 Food and Travel Reader Awards, which recognize the best in tourism, hospitality, and gastronomy in Mexico.
Puerto Escondido is nominated for Best Destination in Mexico, and Oaxaca for Best Gastronomic Destination in the country. The following establishments are also nominated: Alfonsina for Best Restaurant in the Interior of Mexico, Bodaega for Best Gourmet Space in Mexico, and Azul de Oaxaca Hotel + Galería for Best Boutique Hotel in a Pueblo Mágico (Magical Town) or Colonial City.
Alambiq is nominated for Best New Restaurant in Mexico, Costa Pesca for Best Producer or Promoter of Sustainable Products, and Casona Sforza and Terrestre Hotel, both in the Best Boutique Beach Hotel category.
