This Saturday, the municipality of San Felipe del Progreso hosts the Second Tourist Ride, an event organized in coordination with Harley Davidson Mexico motorcyclists. Its objective is to strengthen tourism promotion in the region and attract visitors to its main natural and cultural attractions.

In this edition, more than 160 motorcyclists from Mexico City will ride through the municipal seat as part of a route that includes visits to Tepetitlán Lagoon and the Mazahua Hacienda, two of the municipality’s most iconic sites, chosen to showcase the landscapes and identity of the Mazahua people.

Mayor Jaime Torres Marín stated that these types of activities are part of a strategy to boost tourism and promote the municipality’s rich cultural heritage, while also encouraging visits to the Mazahua ceremonial center and an experience of local traditions. Visitors will also be able to enjoy part of the patron saint festival, which takes place this weekend.

As part of the welcoming ceremony, the fourth generation of the Martínez Acrobats participated, offering a motorcycle skills demonstration. This tradition dates back to the time when José Antonio Martínez’s grandfather and father began practicing acrobatics inspired by a Pedro Infante film, an activity that eventually became a sport and continues to train new generations on their “steel horses” today, in an event enjoyed by the local community.
