The Mexican Tax Administration Service (SAT) reported that, in accordance with the benefits established in the Federal Tax Code and in compliance with applicable court rulings, a business group will make a payment totaling 32,132,897,658 pesos.
Of the total debt, it was agreed that 10,400,630,537 pesos would be paid immediately and were deposited into the Federal Treasury (Tesofe) this Thursday, while the remaining amount will be paid in 18 installments.

“We have always complied,” says Grupo Salinas after paying the SAT
After the SAT reported Grupo Salinas’ payment of its debt of more than 32 billion pesos, the company stated that it has always fulfilled its tax obligations.
“We have always said it, and today we reiterate it: Grupo Salinas and its founding president, Ricardo Benjamín Salinas Pliego, comply, and have always complied, with their tax obligations. In the last 20 years, our companies have paid more than 300 billion pesos in taxes. No one can deny that we are fulfilling our obligations to Mexico,” he said in a statement.
“Not out of conviction, nor because we accept that it is the right thing to do, but because we seek to turn the page and put an end to this systematic campaign against us.
We do this, ultimately, because it is essential for both our companies and our founding president to recover the time, energy, and focus to dedicate ourselves to what we do best: continue creating prosperity and value for Mexico, serving our millions of customers, and ensuring the well-being of more than 200,000 families who depend on Grupo Salinas,” he said.
He added that with this payment, which exceeds the limits of the agreements originally reached in 2024, he will have fully covered everything the tax authorities demanded in this lengthy legal battle.
“From now on, we owe the government nothing, for any reason whatsoever.”

“At Grupo Salinas, we are convinced that, for things to change in our country, the first thing we must do is modify our way of thinking and call for a true cultural revolution. One in which there is no tolerance for crime or corruption, and in which Life, Property, and Individual Liberty are respected; rights that belong to us as free people, not subjugated, who aspire to the best for Mexico and for our families,” he stated.
To the Mexican people, he added, we say: rest assured that Ricardo Benjamín
Salinas Pliego and Grupo Salinas will always be allies of Mexico. We will never stop speaking the truth, seeking to restore to our nation and to every Mexican the prosperity that will reinstate us as a world-class example.
Lenia Batres Celebrates “Historic Triumph of the Rule of Law”
Lenia Batres, the self-proclaimed “Minister of the People,” celebrated the payment of the tax debt by Ricardo Salinas Pliego’s business conglomerate, Grupo Salinas, an event she described as a “historic triumph of the rule of law.”
On social media, Batres Guadarrama stated that, regardless of economic means, all Mexicans must comply with their tax obligations.
“Total Play Telecomunicaciones, S.A.P.I. de C.V., withdrew its direct appeal for review 2526/2025 against a tax assessment of more than 645 million pesos, determined by the SAT (Mexican Tax Administration Service) in 2017 and challenged since then through various appeals,” she indicated.
The Justice of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN) recalled that the debt was determined by the Tax Administration Service (SAT) on December 6, 2017, and has been challenged ever since through various appeals.

She added that one of the lawsuits was subsequently resolved in March 2024 by the now-defunct Second Chamber, which ordered the Federal Court of Administrative Justice (TFJA) to overturn a ruling and issue a new one that would deduct 621 million pesos.
“The TFJA reviewed its initial ruling, but without quantifying the corresponding deduction. Dissatisfied, the company filed a new appeal, which was denied, and requested a review by the SCJN. The company then requested to withdraw from this case, which was assigned to me,” she stated.
Therefore, he insisted that the announcement issued this Thursday by the SAT, confirming an initial payment of more than 10 billion pesos out of a total of 32 billion, represents a very encouraging message about equality in the fulfillment of obligations by Mexicans.
