Since the early hours of the morning, a constant emission of water vapor and volcanic gases has been observed heading southeast.

Puebla, Pue. — In the last 24 hours, 11 low‑intensity exhalations were detected at the Popocatépetl volcano, accompanied by light emissions of water vapor and volcanic gases.

Since the early hours of the morning and up to the time of this report, a constant emission of water vapor and volcanic gases has been observed moving toward the southeast.

The Popocatépetl Volcanic Alert Level remains at Yellow Phase 2.

Cenapred urges the public not to attempt to climb the volcano, as explosions can occur that eject incandescent fragments, as seen recently. It also asks people to respect the 12‑kilometer exclusion radius around the crater, as being within this zone is not safe.
