During the night of Wednesday, February 4, and the early morning of February 5, 2026, threatening messages were reported in various parts of Tabasco, according to witnesses in the demarcations where these writings were found.

Banners with texts addressed to various people, with words loaded with violence, were located in CunduacánLa Isla, and Villahermosa. The inhabitants of the places where these materials were deposited said they did not know who had left them.

In Tamulté, one of the emblematic neighborhoods of the state capital, the texts were also located. It was in a place on Libertad Street where a piece of cloth was found hanging, on which they wrote sentences of a threatening nature.

Fear of violence in Tamulté

The locals, upon reading the contents, were alarmed. Although they did not know the recipient, they feared that violence would begin in the area at any moment, which represented a risk for any inhabitant.

As the night progressed and towards the early hours of the day, citizens were alerted about other banners, also with threatening messages, now in Cunduacán and La Isla.

One of the intimidating messages was located in front of the UJAT in Cunduacán, while on the road that goes to Jalpa de Méndez, at the height of the town of Amatitán, a rag hung with violent words.

Different places, coded messages

They were different places, but in common, they had texts dedicated to some people, who were identified by their nicknames. What was exposed seemed to be coded messages, which only the recipients could understand.

About whom or who had left the blankets, the people said they did not know, adding that they did not see any strange movement at the site; they simply noticed the material when it was already in place.

The fear of the locals was evident. As in the Tamulté neighborhood, the residents of the areas where the blankets were found feared that violence would break out at any moment.

Cunduacán: History of threatening messages

It should be noted that blankets had also been found in Cunduacán previously, a situation that some people recalled, an event that occurred on May 21, 2025. Despite the months that have passed, some still remember that it was in Pechucalco 1st Section and Las Cruces.

About these banners, El Heraldo de Tabasco reported: “Two hanging banners dawned this Wednesday, May 21, in the municipality of Cunduacán, alluding to the crime that left a traffic agent and his alleged aggressor dead.”
