San Miguel de Allende, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, has been included on the agenda of the U.S. Congressional delegation visiting Mexico as part of the work of the Mexico-United States Interparliamentary Group.
The delegation is headed by Michael McCaul, Congressman from Texas and Chairman of the Interparliamentary Group, who is recognized for his expertise in foreign policy, national security, and bilateral cooperation. He is accompanied by seven other members of Congress from both parties, demonstrating the pluralistic and strategic nature of the visit.
As part of the planned agenda, on Sunday, February 8, the delegation will meet with the Governor of Guanajuato, Libia Denisse García Muñoz Ledo, and with Mayor Mauricio Trejo, in a meeting aimed at strengthening institutional dialogue with the state and municipality.
San Miguel de Allende was selected for the visit due to the confidence the delegation has gained from its governance and institutional stability, as well as its recognition as one of the most important cultural and historical destinations in Mexico and the world.
