Young people, a fundamental piece for the progress of the Zacatecas government

Within the framework of the 2026 Progress Agenda, the Government of Zacatecas, led by Governor David Monreal Ávila, through the State Youth Institute (Injuventud), assumes the commitment and responsibility to this sector of the population, recognizing them as fundamental to building a state with more and better opportunities for development.

Mauricio Acevedo Rodríguez, director of Injuventud, affirmed that the agency is working to identify the real needs of young people in order to promote concrete actions that generate social impact, strengthen the social fabric, and encourage the active participation of this population group.

With the implementation of the “Transforming Spaces for Progress” program, focused on the restoration, rehabilitation, and revitalization of public spaces, safe and functional areas are being created that foster healthy coexistence, culture, sports, and a sense of belonging.

The official reaffirmed the state administration’s commitment to recognizing youth talent and leadership through the “Youth That Inspires Progress, State Youth Award 2026,” the highest honor that seeks to highlight those who, through their work and example, contribute to the development and positive transformation of the state.

Throughout 2026, the Government of Zacatecas, through the Youth Institute (Injuventud), will continuously develop strategic, innovative, cultural, sports, and socially responsible programs that address the needs of young people. One example is the “To the Rhythm of Progress” concerts, which have a preventative focus on various topics of interest to youth.

Similarly, programs such as “Youth Financial Progress,” focused on economic empowerment and financial education, and “Open Your Mind to Progress,” a cultural activity that motivates and celebrates the state’s rich heritage, will be implemented.

In addition, conferences on physical and mental health will be offered under the “Ideas that Drive Progress” initiative. The program will seek to create spaces for training and inspiration, featuring prominent speakers in entrepreneurship and leadership.

With the “Gamers of Progress” program, the passion that characterizes Mexicans in this World Cup year will be catered for; with “Traces of Progress,” spaces will be opened for young people to promote and create urban art, among other actions that will be carried out in 2026 for the healthy development of youth.

With a clear vision, hard work, and confidence in talent, the Youth Institute (Injuventud) is taking on the challenge of turning the 2026 Progress Agenda into real results, because with the active participation of young people, spaces are transformed, ideas become action, and progress becomes a reality.
