Characters from various films will take over the tourist area, and Mexican artists will fill the atmosphere with music
It’s official! Ixtapa Zihuatanejo begins the countdown to celebrate its “Movie Carnival 2026” from March 13 to 15. The streets of this tourist area will become theater and film stages, musical presentations, and activities for families and visitors.
Through a video on social networks, the participation of artistic animators who characterize unforgettable characters from renowned films such as Alice in Wonderland, Elsa from the film Frozen, Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean, Darth Vader from Star Wars, among many others, was announced.
In addition, a talent contest and a costume contest are contemplated to choose the queen of the carnival, who can win up to 20 thousand pesos, as well as seven thousand for whoever has the best fantasy costume; an activity in which the public will be able to participate in the election of the best representative.

The presentations will be at the Las Salinas Grounds, and ticket sales are not yet available.

As every year, this beach destination reinvents itself with a theme for its traditional carnival, in 2025, it was celebrated under the concept “World Cultures in Paradise”. While in 2024, the theme was “Fantastic Creatures”.
