The measles vaccination campaign will continue this Monday in Durango.

Following federal directives and as part of the National Measles Response Strategy, the vaccination campaign targeting vulnerable populations will continue this Monday in Durango, prioritizing children aged 6 months to 12 years who have not completed their vaccination schedule.

Additionally, girls aged 11 to 12 years can receive the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine as part of the health sector’s ongoing preventative measures.

In Gómez Palacio, vaccinations will be administered at the “Dr. Isauro Venzor” Urban Health Center, while in Lerdo, they will be administered at the “Dr. Roberto García Sosa” Urban Health Center. In both Gómez Palacio and Lerdo, the service will be available from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The campaign may conclude earlier if the available doses are exhausted, according to the inventory allocated to each unit.

The strategy will be implemented in the municipality of Durango at the following locations: CESSA 450, CESSA “Dr. Carlos Santa María”, CESSA “Dr. Carlos León de la Peña”, and the General Maternal and Child Hospital. In the municipality of Durango, the hours of operation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Measles vaccination is a national priority. Therefore, mothers, fathers, and guardians of children between 6 months and 12 years of age who have not received the vaccine, or who have only received one dose and at least six months have passed since the first, are urged to visit their health center to complete their protection with MMR or MR, as appropriate.

The methodology includes an eligibility screening upon entry to verify age and vaccination schedule, appointment scheduling based on the actual inventory, and immediate digital updating after administration. This helps avoid overcrowding and ensures transparency in the use of the vaccine.

Health authorities reiterated that people who have already completed the two-dose measles vaccination schedule do not require revaccination, and noted that targeted epidemiological containment efforts continue in areas where confirmed cases have been identified.
