Bukele: The business of locking up criminals; AMLO: The business of partnering with them

3

Bukele invested in a large prison as a symbol of the fight against crime in El Salvador… over time, he not only conquered insecurity; he ended up making a fortune from his prison.
The United States pays him to send criminals to be held… not to be protected.
Thanks to this, he has unplanned income that helps him tremendously.
Faced with this reality, Ms. Fernández, the newly elected president of Costa Rica, announces that she too is going after criminals and that she will also build a large prison, Bukele-style.

Of course! She wants her share of the pie, and she’ll get it.
Further south, Javier Milei breaks all the chains of socialism inherited from the Peronists, aligns himself with Donald Trump, and receives $20 billion in investments.
In a short time, the Argentine economy rebounds and emerges from its state of destitution.

Three countries, without the blessing of bordering the United States, obtain unexpected and fabulous benefits.

Trump invites them and others who align themselves to do business with the Americans to a summit to confront the Chinese threat.

And what about us?
Instead of fighting criminals and locking them up, we make them part of the institutional power structure.
Criminals imprison citizens… We don’t profit from prisons for criminals; criminals profit from prisons for citizens whom they extort, kidnap, and murder.
Thanks to this, instead of receiving American money, we receive threats of military incursions.
Then, to complete the circle, instead of severing ties with socialism, we invent humanitarian operations to prop up the murderous Castro dictatorship in Cuba.

And we challenge the Americans instead of doing business with them.

They impose tariffs on us; they give others investments… they funnel money to them… they turn them into allies.

They didn’t invite Dr. Sheinbaum to that so-called summit of America’s friends.

We’re neither friends nor allies… We’re the neighbor who hoards trash, who lives in filth, and who refuses to clean… but also doesn’t want the neighbor, bothered by our flies, to bother cleaning.
Sheinbaum and López are happy among human filth… Like pathological hoarders, they have them and maintain them because they know that one day, they’ll be useful to them.

And of course, that day comes every time there are elections.
