García Harfuch Announces the Arrest of 15 Instigators of Violence in Chiapas

Omar García Harfuch, Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection, reported the arrest of 15 individuals responsible for generating violence in Chiapas.

In a message posted on Twitter, the head of the SSPC (Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection) explained that in response to increasing citizen complaints about insecurity in Tapachula, federal and state forces carried out an operation in the city, resulting in the dismantling of a criminal cell.

The operation, led by the Chiapas Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSyPC), was conducted in coordination with the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE), the Secretariat of National Defense (Defensa), the Secretariat of the Navy (SEMAR), the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic (FGR), and the Federal SSPC, which Omar García Harfuch heads.

According to Omar García Harfuch, the following results were achieved with the operation in Chiapas:

15 individuals identified as “generators of violence” were arrested.

Fifteen long guns were seized.
Various doses of illicit substances were confiscated.
Nine vehicles were also seized.

According to the secretary, this blow against crime was made possible thanks to coordination with the governor of Chiapas, Eduardo Ramírez Aguilar.
