On Sunday night, several branches of the Bodega Aurrerá supermarket chain began closing their doors to the public in municipalities of the Central Valleys of Oaxaca, generating uncertainty among the population.
According to citizen reports, stores located in Plaza Bella, in Santa María Atzompa, as well as branches in Santa Cruz Xoxocotlán, suspended customer entry around 8:00 p.m., when store personnel stopped allowing access even though there were still people trying to make purchases.
So far, the company has not issued an official statement regarding the reasons for this measure; however, employees only informed customers that the closure was due to internal instructions.
The early closure occurs within a context of tension and uncertainty stemming from recent acts of violence in different regions of the country, a situation that has led to operational adjustments and preventative measures in various commercial establishments.
Local authorities have not reported any incidents directly related to these branches, although surveillance is being maintained in the area.
It is expected that in the next few hours the commercial chain or the relevant authorities will issue official information to clarify the reasons for the closures.
