The Secretary of Tourism, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, presented a plan to strengthen Mexico’s air connectivity and consolidate the country as an international destination, with the opening of new routes that will begin operating this semester.

In total, 32 domestic and 22 international routes will be added, allowing Mexico to maintain broader connections with different parts of the world and reinforce its global tourism profile.

In addition to the transportation strategy, Rodríguez announced a special event in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas, where more than 4,000 people will gather in the stadium to attempt to break the Guinness World Record for creating the world’s largest t-shirt.

The project seeks to combine tourism promotion with high-impact media campaigns, highlighting the country’s ability to generate unique experiences that attract both domestic and international visitors.

With these measures, the Ministry of Tourism aims for a dual objective: to increase the arrival of travelers through improved connections and to generate events that raise Mexico’s global profile.
