The Mexican city of Zamora in Michoacán hosted the naming of the new International Mango Ambassadors for 2026. Bertha Guillermina Castellanos, a journalist and director of the digital magazine 5wredactor.com, and Anahí Casillas, an agribusiness expert and director of the consulting firm CEINAGRO, received this important award at a ceremony that highlighted the social and economic significance of the mango.

Both Bertha Guillermina and Anahí Casillas expressed their “great satisfaction and enormous honor” at receiving this prestigious recognition. They both pledged to promote and raise awareness of mango cultivation as part of their responsibilities as the new International Ambassadors for this superfood.

This is the first time that the Mexican state of Michoacán has hosted these prestigious awards, and it is one of the main mango-producing regions in Mexico.

These awards, now in their fourth edition, originated in Málaga, Spain, and have undoubtedly become a benchmark for the international mango industry.

In the coming months, the next International Mango Ambassadors for 2027 will be named. These awards are presented annually to recognize individuals, organizations, or associations that have distinguished themselves by promoting and raising awareness of the mango industry.
