The new route will allow tourists and business travelers to have a direct connection to the island, especially for activities related to resorts and diving tourism.
In addition to strengthening tourist traffic to Cozumel, the connection will also facilitate the mobility of work teams linked to the tourism industry, particularly those with rotating assignments at hotels and dive centers.
The Secretary of Tourism of Quintana Roo, Bernardo Cueto Riestra, emphasized that the strengthening of air connectivity is the result of ongoing promotional and coordination efforts with airlines, tour operators, and international business partners.
“The new air connection helps reinforce Cozumel’s position within the Canadian market, facilitating direct access to the island and strengthening the presence of the Mexican Caribbean in one of the international markets with the greatest affinity for sun and beach destinations,” he said.
The first flight on this route took off on March 6, marking the beginning of a new air connectivity option for travelers from the Canadian province of Quebec.
