The mayor of Querétaro, Felipe Fernando Macías Olvera, announced that the 2026 Festival of Foreign Communities will have a World Cup theme and will take place from April 30 to May 3 at Bicentennial Park. The four-day festival is geared entirely toward families.
The mayor explained that the event will incorporate sporting activities, primarily related to soccer, within the context of the pre-World Cup atmosphere.
“It will also have a sports component, where delegations and communities from different countries residing in our city will participate in sporting activities, mainly soccer,” he stated.
He indicated that the festival will maintain its cultural, artistic, and gastronomic activities, with the participation of the diverse international communities residing in the city of Querétaro.
Macías Olvera noted that the previous edition saw the participation of more than 50 countries and an attendance of nearly 60,000 people, and that this year’s event is expected to surpass that number.
Finally, the mayor noted that the event is part of the activities being prepared in the city in the context of the World Cup, and added that the participation of former soccer players and various activities related to the sport are expected.
