The municipality of Querétaro, led by Mayor Felipe Fernando Macías Olvera, returns to the world cultural scene with the arrival of the International Humanoid Exhibition, featuring sculptures by Australian artist Amanda Parer, whose work has been exhibited in more than 300 cities worldwide.

These monumental human-shaped figures will be located at four points throughout the city for families to enjoy from March 12 to April 2.

This international exhibition has already toured Germany, Australia, Bulgaria, Spain, the United States, Finland, and Singapore, and will now be in Querétaro. From March 12 to 26, the sculptures will be on display in Plaza de la Constitución and Plaza de los Fundadores; from March 12 to April 1 in Alameda Hidalgo; and from March 13 to April 2 in Jardín Guerrero.

This work is inspired by the Czech-French animated film “Fantastic Planet” and, according to the artist, she twisted the concept so that the giants come to visit planet Earth and observe its inhabitants peacefully.

The work explores the complex relationship humanity has with the natural world and invites reflection on our impact on the environment, our relationships with the world, and the beings that surround us.

The humanoid figures play with scale, light, darkness, humor, and melancholy to convey these themes.
