State authorities in Jalisco acknowledged today their concern over alleged payments made by Rubén Oseguera Cervantes, alias “El Mencho,” to security personnel.
After a journalistic investigation revealed that the Jalisco State Highway Police were allegedly on the payroll of Rubén Oseguera Cervantes, alias “El Mencho,” state authorities indicated that the case should be investigated by the federal government.
According to a report published by journalist Manuel Espino in El Universal, the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) paid 456,000 pesos in a single month to three police agencies within the state Security Secretariat, including the State Highway Police, which was created during the administration of Governor Pablo Lemus.
