Humanoids illuminate plazas in the Historic Center of Querétaro

The international exhibition “HUMANOIDS,” by Australian artist Amanda Parer, has been installed in various public spaces in the Historic Center as part of the city’s cultural program.

The exhibition consists of large-scale inflatable human figures that light up at night and have been placed in plazas and gardens for the public to explore. The artistic proposal seeks to generate a dialogue between contemporary art and urban space.

The installations have been on display since March 12 in Plaza Fundadores and Plaza Constitución, where they will remain until March 26. They will be in Alameda Hidalgo from March 12 to April 1, and in Jardín Guerrero from March 13 to April 2.

Municipal authorities stated that this project aims to bring cultural activities closer to the public and promote the use of public spaces in the Historic Center of Querétaro through artistic interventions.

The works in the “HUMANOIDS” series were first presented in 2014 and have since toured nearly 300 cities around the world.
