If you’re a collector of vintage items or enjoy secondhand goods, the parking lot of the Lázaro Cárdenas neighborhood market transforms into a hub of activity every Tuesday and Saturday. Visitors browse stalls of trinkets in search of antiques, secondhand tools, and clothing.
In this space, located south of the city of Querétaro, on Boulevard del Cimatario, near the intersection with Avenida Luis Pasteur Sur, vendors set up stalls offering used goods and various items sourced from homes, workshops, and warehouses.
Among the items available are tools, VHS tapes, DVD players, used clothing, vintage photographs, picture frames, toys from the 1990s, teapots, pocketknives, magnifying glasses, and machetes.
You can also find collectible coins, used shoes and sneakers, ceramics, books, vintage postcards, fans, wiring, plastic items, plants, and tableware.
The market operates on Tuesdays and Saturdays. According to local vendors, the market is open from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.; however, the busiest time is between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., when the majority of vendors and buyers congregate.
Some visitors come looking for tools or everyday items, while others browse antiques or pieces no longer available in stores. The stalls offer items from various eras, sold individually or as a set.
The market serves as a hub for vendors selling used goods and people looking for items for household use, repairs, or collecting. During market days, the parking lot fills with stalls, tarps, and merchandise displayed for sale.
Visitors to the site can sample some of the food stalls there, in addition to those in the market next door, where among tools, toys, records, photographs and household objects they can enjoy a tour hoping to find some treasure for the collection or that could have a use.
