In Baja California Sur, there has been an increase in disappearances, which, according to the Búsqueda X La Paz collective, is due to people arriving in the state with false job offers.
According to the National Registry of Missing and Unlocated Persons, as of Tuesday, March 10, there are 132,026 missing persons in Mexico, 1,175 of them in Baja California Sur.
The field search coordinator for the Búsqueda X La Paz collective stated that they have found a pattern between people arriving with false job offers and disappearances.
As Gabriel Cruz explained in an interview with Pamela Cerdeira, they have received reports from relatives of missing persons who had come to Baja California Sur after receiving a job offer.
The disappearances are occurring especially in Los Cabos, under the guise of working as a tour guide or day laborer; however, the young people never make contact again.
He added that the reports are coming from different states, such as Sinaloa and Guerrero, which complicates the search for the missing persons.
This had already been mentioned by Rosalba Ibarra, representative of the Búsqueda X La Paz collective, who stated that five missing persons reports are shared weekly in Baja California Sur.
Regarding the clandestine graves found in Comondú, Baja California Sur, the coordinator of the collective indicated that five bodies have been located: one woman and four men.
According to the coordinator of Búsqueda X La Paz, the bodies still have tissue remaining, suggesting they are recent, estimated to be approximately eight months old.
He added that the collective has located at least 96 clandestine graves in La Paz, a situation that would have extended to Comondú if the report is true.
