The New Costco in Guadalajara — anyone been?

2

Hey gringos! Regarding the new Costco in San Isidro, I’m curious if anyone here has checked it out yet and what you thought about it.
For those who didn’t know, it opened in August of last year and it’s located about 23 km northeast of the Costco on Rafael Sanzio, across the street from Plaza Galerías.
Some things I’ve gleaned from local newspapers, reports, and shoppers:
It’s a newer design, supposedly built to handle foot traffic better (while relieving the crowds at the other two Costcos).
There’s a gas station with self-service pumps with lower prices, which is convenient if you want to fill up while shopping.
And here’s the part getting a lot of buzz: it has a Sushi Room – reportedly the first Costco in Mexico to have a dedicated sushi counter. People say it feels like a mini restaurant inside a wholesale store and taps into the trend of gourmet deli-style food in big-box stores.
It’s reported to be the largest Costco in the Guadalajara area, which supposedly means better inventory and more space than the older locations.
I’m thinking about checking it out soon — but I’d love to hear from anyone who’s already gone. What’s it like? Any must-try foods or tips? Anything else that makes it worth the drive?
