Puerto Vallarta International Airport will expand its Terminal 2 with an investment of nearly five billion pesos. The project, slated for completion in early 2027, will allow the airport to double its international operations.

The Secretary of Tourism for Jalisco, Michelle Fridman, emphasized that the project will strengthen the destination’s connectivity, which is already one of the country’s main air entry points.

In January, the airport handled 732,000 passengers, with a strong presence of international flights.

Authorities highlighted that the destination maintains high hotel occupancy rates and is preparing for the 2026 World Cup with strategies to attract tourism.

Furthermore, the sector reports recovery following recent security incidents, with tourism activity operating normally.
