With 14 people injured, one seriously, and two dead, a semi-trailer truck belonging to the Vilchis Refrigerated Company crashed into 12 vehicles Tuesday morning on Highway 57, near the Cimatario neighborhood in the city of Querétaro.
Querétaro firefighters responded to the scene and used specialized equipment to rescue the victims. State Civil Protection personnel and the Emergency Medical Services Regulatory Center also provided support.
It is known that the driver of the semi-trailer that caused the accident fled the scene and has not yet been apprehended.
According to preliminary reports, the injured person is in serious condition.
The accident caused a partial closure of the highway heading towards Celaya, while personnel from the Mexican Army (SEDENA) and the National Guard assisted with traffic control in the area.
