Some people, without realizing it, begin to chart their destiny from childhood. This was the case for Celerino García Suazo, an artist from Zihuatanejo who found in painting not only a talent, but a way to understand life.
His story began in an elementary school classroom when he was just six years old.
At 14, while other teenagers were discovering hobbies, Celerino had already made a decision: he wanted to paint.
Without resources or formal training, he bought the cheapest materials he could find and practiced on his own.
His discipline led him to excel in middle school, where he represented his school in regional competitions. The decisive change came when he met the artist Alfredo Tapia, who, surprised by his talent, took him into his workshop, where he trained as an assistant for three years.
Celerino remembers selling his first piece for 300 pesos, paid in installments. Today he works in realism and decorative art, now seeking to express his own essence in other types of works.
His inspiration comes from everything around him: the sea, a film, or everyday light. Behind his work are his family and a story of perseverance and unwavering commitment to doing what he loves.
