The President of Chapala has announced the start of a major infrastructure project to move electrical and communication lines underground throughout the municipality.
Due to safety requirements during the initial phase, residents should prepare for a full internet blackout, with service temporarily suspended 24 hours a day during active work periods (by zone).

In addition, there will be mandatory rolling electrical blackouts during nighttime hours to allow crews to work safely.
This project is part of a broader effort to modernize local infrastructure and eliminate hazardous and unsightly overhead lines.
A detailed schedule by neighborhood is expected soon. In the meantime, residents who work from home or rely on internet service are encouraged to begin making alternative arrangements now.
