The Calgary-Cancun route will operate from December 11 to April 11, 2027, with four weekly flights; and the Calgary-Puerto Vallarta route, with three weekly flights, will operate from December 10 to April 10, 2027.
“Air Canada is expanding its flights to Latin America from Vancouver, thanks to the growth of our A220 and Air Canada Rouge aircraft fleets. This allows us to open direct routes to Mexico, including Mazatlán, our newest Mexican destination, and Mérida,” said Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President, Chief Commercial Officer, and President of Cargo at Air Canada.
Luis Noriega Benet, Commercial Director for Latin America and the Caribbean, stated, “We are proud to continue growing in Mexico, a key market for Air Canada, and reaffirming our commitment to connecting the country with the world through Canada via an increasingly robust route network.”
He added that, in this regard, they have established themselves as the only airline with direct flights from Nuevo León to Canada with the Monterrey-Toronto route, to which the new Monterrey-Vancouver route will now be added. They are also continuing to strengthen their presence in destinations such as Mérida and Mazatlán, as part of their strategic expansion in Mexico and Latin America.
Meanwhile, the Secretary of Tourism for Sinaloa, Mireya Sosa Osuna, stated that this achievement is the result of the coordinated work between the state government and Grupo Aeroportuario Centro Norte (OMA) to increase the flow of international passengers to the state.
