On behalf of the Secretary of Tourism of the Government of Mexico, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, the Director General of Professionalization and Tourism Competitiveness, Mariana del Carmen Díaz y Maxil, inaugurated the Querétaro artisan, gastronomic, and cultural showcase, which will be presented throughout May at three important tourism promotion venues in Mexico City.

Accompanied by the Director of Tourism Promotion and the Director General of Promotion and International Affairs of Querétaro, Rodrigo Ibarra Lozano and María José Torres Cervantes, she emphasized the importance of these venues in bringing the experiences, traditions, and attractions that distinguish the state closer to the public.

“Today we have a very special guest: Querétaro. To speak of Querétaro is to speak of colonial cities steeped in history, of magical towns, of vineyards and internationally renowned culinary routes, but above all, of its warm and hospitable people,” she said.

The tourism exhibit “Querétaro and then, I found Mexico” will be on display at Punto México, the Ministry of Tourism’s booth located at Avenida Presidente Masaryk No. 172; at Punto México in the Postal Palace Museum, at Avenida Tacuba No. 1, Historic Center; and at Odisea México, in Plaza Carso.

At the event, the Director of Tourism Promotion for Querétaro, Rodrigo Ibarra Lozano, stated that this exhibit will allow each visitor to experience the essence of the state.

“We want every visitor who comes here to find a glimpse into our streets, admire our architecture, enjoy our wines, discover our traditions, and connect with our community,” he said.

He added that the exhibition reflects the current state of Querétaro as a modern, connected, and globally open destination, with strategic infrastructure and connectivity to receive national and international visitors in the lead-up to the 2026 World Cup.

Díaz y Maxil noted that Querétaro has established itself as one of the country’s most important tourist destinations thanks to its cultural, gastronomic, romantic, ecotourism, and business tourism offerings.

“Every experience in Querétaro tells a story, from strolling through its historic streets to enjoying a glass of wine in the wine region. Querétaro lives with both the past and the future,” he stated.

He emphasized that tourism strengthens the economy, generates opportunities, and promotes cultural exchange, noting that Mexico remains one of the most visited countries in the world.

“Today more than ever, tourism is a bridge that unites cultures, generates opportunities, and strengthens economies. Querétaro is ready to continue welcoming the world with open arms,” he concluded.
