Flights from Puebla to Houston, San Luis Potosí, and Aguascalientes are registering the fewest passengers at the Hermanos Serdán International Airport.

The head of the Ministry of Tourism Development, Carla López-Malo Villalón, stated that various destinations are seasonal, which determines their frequency.

She acknowledged that not all flights from Puebla will reach 100% passenger capacity, as many are still in the development phase.

Despite this, the promotion of all destinations continues, especially the nine recently opened domestic destinations, with support from the various ministries.

Among the strategies, she announced promotional exchanges on billboards, press conferences, and meetings with tour operators and travel agencies.

In the case of Puebla, she said that similar activities will take place in Huatulco and Mérida in the coming weeks. She added that initial contact has already been made with both New York and Los Angeles.

These are the destinations with the most passengers on flights from Puebla
The Secretary of Tourism Development, Carla López-Malo Villalón, indicated which destinations have the most passengers on flights from Puebla.

She pointed out that Los Angeles and Newark are progressing smoothly, as are Los Cabos and Cancún, two well-established routes.

Similarly, Mérida and Puerto Vallarta are also performing well in Puebla, in contrast to flights to San Luis Potosí, Aguascalientes, and Houston. The latter, at least, has an 80 percent occupancy rate.

It is worth mentioning that the “Hermanos Serdán” International Airport in Puebla currently offers 17 direct destinations.

Of these, 14 are domestic flights to Cancún, Tijuana, Monterrey, Guadalajara, Huatulco, Puerto Vallarta, San José del Cabo, Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo, Aguascalientes, León, San Luis Potosí, Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Villahermosa, and Mérida.

There are also three international flights to Houston, Texas; Los Angeles, California; and New York and Newark, New Jersey.

At the end of April, the Ministry of Tourism Development announced the signing of agreements with Tabasco, Oaxaca, and Morelos. While it is unknown when these destinations might reopen, discussions are already underway.
