According to the Institute of Statistical and Geographic Information of Jalisco (IIEG), Mexico has 11,592 kilometers of coastline, with 150 municipalities located along its shores. Of this total, 396.97 kilometers belong to the state of Jalisco, including the coastal municipalities of Puerto Vallarta, Cabo Corrientes, Tomatlán, La Huerta, and Cihuatlán, according to the 2021 General Map Proposal of the State of Jalisco.
