Tabasco will contribute to the planting of three thousand plants during the National Reforestation Day taking place this Sunday, August 9, the Secretariat of Environment and Sustainable Development (SEMADES) announced.

Undersecretary of Environment Luis Giovani Santos González reported that reforestation efforts using native forest plants will be carried out at El Camarón Lagoon in Villahermosa, starting at 9:00 a.m.

“We invite the public to join this event as well. Last year, reforestation work was also carried out at that lagoon during the state-level event, and the plants put in the ground then are still there,” he noted.

The National Reforestation Day aims to plant 6.6 million trees and plants across more than 32,000 hectares nationwide.
